Shaping Saudi Arabia’s ecological future
Saudi Arabia is in the midst of an incredible transformation. As megaprojects reshape the Kingdom’s landscape, Staterra is ensuring that environmental considerations remain at the forefront. Our team is setting new standards in ecological consulting across Saudi Arabia, balancing ambitious development goals with crucial environmental needs.
Pioneering ecological solutions
Our projects in NEOM showcase Staterra’s expertise in action. We’ve been involved in multiple initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to preserving biodiversity while facilitating sustainable development. A couple of examples:
Native tree translocation at Oxagon
In a crucial project, we conducted a rapid ecological survey and native tree translocation at the WO-038 Oxagon Site in NEOM.
This project aimed to characterise the biotic environment and identify ecological features in the area.
Importantly, we worked on translocating native tree species to other sites, aligning with NEOM’s vision of environmental preservation.
Our survey at Oxagon revealed that the area is part of the Red Sea Arabian Desert Shrublands Ecoregion, dominated by Vachellia tortilis and Haloxylon salicornicum.
We recorded fourteen plant species belonging to ten genera and seven families, providing crucial data for future conservation efforts.
Ecological survey at Haql Site
We also conducted a comprehensive ecological survey at the Haql Site, providing vital insights for this futuristic development.
During our survey, we identified 18 plant species, including important trees like Vachellia tortilis and Lycium shawii.
We also noted potential habitats for the globally vulnerable Spiny-tailed Lizard.
Our team’s expertise in biodiversity assessment was further demonstrated through our thorough examination of the site’s fauna.
These projects demonstrate our capability in terrestrial ecology, protected species surveys, and practical conservation measures – key aspects of our ecological services.
Leading the way in Saudi ecological consulting
As Saudi Arabia progresses towards Vision 2030, the demand for expert ecological advice is growing rapidly.
Our team combines local knowledge with global best practices, ensuring we deliver solutions that are both environmentally sound and practically achievable. Our ecological surveys form the backbone of our environmental governance approach, providing crucial data for informed decision-making.
At Staterra, we are proud to be at the forefront of this field, offering unparalleled expertise in navigating the complex interplay between development and environmental preservation.
Certified excellence in environmental services
Our commitment to environmental excellence is recognised at the highest levels. Staterra holds the “Certificate of Authorisation for a Third-Party Company to Provide Environmental Services” from the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu at Jazan City. This certification, achieved after a rigorous evaluation process, authorises us to provide Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consultancy services in the Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries (JCPDI) region.
This certification underscores our ability to deliver top-tier environmental solutions that meet the Royal Commission’s stringent standards. It’s not just an achievement, but a responsibility we take seriously in our mission to protect the environment and contribute to sustainable development.

The future of Saudi Arabia is bright, and at Staterra, we’re committed to ensuring it’s green too. We’re continually expanding our capabilities, investing in new technologies, and deepening our understanding of Saudi Arabia’s unique ecosystems.
