A C.Chem and C.Env., John is a Director of Environmental Services, specialising in auditing offshore production rigs and environmental engineering for offshore renewable energy.

His extensive background includes 13 years on Aramco projects and expertise in ESIA, ESMS, ESMPs, ESCR, IPPC, Due Diligence, and rig decommissioning.

John is an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, a Hazardous Waste Management Strategist, and a specialist in Soil & Groundwater Microbial Hydrocarbon Biodegradation.

John is also a former World Bank and EBRD Lead Environmental Auditor for the Petroleum & Petrochemical Industry and a Hydrocarbon Contamination Expert Witness.

Dr. Ronald is a renowned environmental scientist with over 30 years of experience across Australia, the Middle East, and North Africa, specialising in coastal and marine management, climate policy, biodiversity, and carbon offsetting.

As Director of Climate Change & Sustainability at Staterra, Dr. Ron leads initiatives integrating scientific research, regulatory alignment, and nature-based solutions.

With a PhD in marine environmental management, he is a global authority on blue carbon ecosystems and nature-based carbon sequestration, having developed Saudi Arabia’s first National Nature-Based Solutions Carbon Framework as Senior Environmental Advisor to the CEO of the National Center for Vegetation Cover (NCVC).

His 13-year tenure with Saudi Aramco focused on sustainability and environmental protection. Dr. Loughland represents government and private sectors in international forums like the G20 Working Group on Natural Climate Solutions and the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) – Nature-Based Solutions Task Force.

He has also mentored numerous early-career environmental professionals and has over 75 referred scientific publications.

His project experience includes groundwater remediation for Petrokemya-North and Sabtank, waste characterisation at Aramco Drill Sites, and environmental permitting for Ma’aden Gold Mines. Baqer also contributed environmental inputs to PIF’s Khafji Green Belt Project.
